Mike Fournier is the President and founder of Mike’s Home improvement. His humble beginnings as an apprentice for his father (an interior designer) and his grandfather (a mason) laid the foundation for Mike’s affinity for home improvement. After a short stint as a building maintenance technician for a local manufacturing company, Mike realized his talents could be better used and returned to his roots in the home improvement business. In April 1992 Mike began his business, initially accepting small home improvement projects. Within 3 years, Mike had the skills and resources to build homes from frame to finish. In the mid-90’s, Mike obtained his Construction Supervisor’s license in Massachusetts and he became a sought-after builder in the Greater Boston area. As he was building beautiful homes, he was also building his reputation as a master craftsman and a fair businessman, and family man. The lynchpin of Mike’s success has been his friends and family. His best friend and partner, lead foreman Steve Cote, has been working with him since 1995. Mike’s sons also work for the business. Justin works full-time as a site foreman and is studying to become an EPA certified lead inspector. His youngest son Nick works in the summer when he breaks from his studies at the University of Maine where he is majoring in Construction Management. Most importantly, Mike’s wife Karen has been the solid foundation supporting the family and business from the beginning. Despite his success in major home construction, Mike continues to accept (and takes great pride in) small projects as well.
